Welcome! Our labs are located in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Pittsburgh in the heart of Oakland, Pittsburgh's university neighborhood. The city is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the US, and is rich in scientific activity with several universities and dozens of excellent career opportunities in biomedical research and health care. The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Carnegie Mellon University, the Cathedral of Learning, the Carnegie Library, the Carnegie Museums of Art and of Natural History, as well as the Phipps Conservatory in Schenley Park are just steps away.
We occupy the 13th floor of the Chevron Science Center and the lab has state-of-the-art equipment for organic synthesis, molecular biology, and cell biology. In addition, excellent infrastructure for NMR, mass spectrometry, imaging, and drug discovery is available in the department and the university.
The lab is always looking for highly motivated students and postdocs with a background in chemical or biological research! If you are interested in our research program, especially in working at the interface of chemistry and biology, please come by my office in 1305 Chevron or contact me by email. If you are interested in graduate studies, please apply to either Pitt's Chemistry Graduate Program or MBSB Graduate Program. Due to the number of postdoc applications received every week, I am unfortunately not able to answer every email.
