We are developing chemical tools to address fundamental problems in biology and human health. Click on the links below to learn more about our research program and take a look at our publications. If you are interested in applying some of our methodologies in your research, feel free to request any materials.
Covalent Modifiers
We are working to design novel systems for covalent modification of biomolecules, including the design of peptide- and DNA-based molecules for site-specific protein modification.
Chemical Immunology
Molecules designed to generate an immune response for diagnostic and therapeutic applications are a major research topic in the lab. Our main approach is via re-engineered T cells.
Synthetic Biology
We are genetically re-wiring cellular circuitry in order to give proteins and organisms new functions. Our main approach is  the expansion of the genetic code with unnatural amino acids.
Optochemical biology
Light enables the regulation of biological processes with high spatial and temporal resolution, and we are engineering light-responsive nucleic acids and proteins for optobiological studies.
